100 students at the Msaranga Secondary School showed up for their Interact Club's kick-off meeting. Young people, leading community-based development actiivities in their own villages. As the students stated during the meeting, "It is our job to fix our communities. Please just help us with the training and support."

NAIROBI, Kenya – Ten African countries have halved their poverty rates over the last two decades, but child mortality rates have increased in six sub-Saharan nations, a report on the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goals released Tuesday found.

Whaling commission ponders suspending hunting ban

AGADIR, Morocco – The International Whaling Commission began its most important meeting in decades debating whether to scrap an ineffective 25-year ban on commercial hunting and instead allow for limited whaling under a more enforceable regime.
