Leadership Team
Martin Fox - Based in Park City, Utah, Martin focuses on the Center's national-level and international programs. He is an ivy-league educated, former Fortune 500 executive. In his 20's, Martin ran global high potential leadership development for a company operating in over 100 countries. In his 30's, Martin grew a company from 3 employees to over 3,600 employees worldwide (while achieving the highest return-on-invested-capital in the Fortune 500). Now in his 40's, Martin shares his passion, vision, and skills with inspired entrepreneurs around the globe. Martin has also taught applied leadership courses at Cornell University.
On the outdoor side, Martin is a Deer Valley ski instructor, licensed river guide, wilderness first responder, swift-water rescue technician, mountaineer, backcountry skier, kayaker, mountain biker, ocean sailor, and former life guard. Martin has guided internationally since the late 1980's and holds advanced level avalanche certifications.
Courtney Boyd - Based in Aspen, Colorado, Courtney focuses on CGL's execution (she makes great things happen). Courtney grew up in Simsbury, CT, spending most of her waking moments playing soccer. After attending the University of Connecticut and the University of Michigan, Courtney headed for the Rocky Mountains, gaining extensive experience in the hospitality and ski industries. Since 2005, she has been busy raising a super-cool daughter who loves to hike up the mountains in the summer and ski the bumps and trees in the winter. Courtney's outdoor passions include alpine & backcountry skiing, road & mountain biking, hiking, running, reading.
In Courtney's words, "I am thrilled to join the CGL team, to be part of something that is bigger than myself and to have the opportunity to contribute to an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of strangers around the globe".
Scott Hendrickson - Based in Park City, Utah, Scott focuses on the Center's work with private and public high schools in the USA and around the world. He is a former teacher, with significant experience in both public schools systems and private schools in the USA and Europe. Scott has an A.B. in history from Middlebury College, masters degrees from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst and Plymouth State University in NH, and he has also pursued doctoral studies at Rivier College.
One the outdooor side, Scott is a Deer Valley ski instructor, certified Austrian instructor, and a former professional ski patroller. A veteran of student-centered experiential learning, Scott has served as director for the Stratton Wilderness Pursuit Center in VT, director for the Ragged Lake Camp in NH, and, as a teacher, he has led student groups around our planet.
Tim Jones - Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Tim focuses on the Center's training design and our Utah-based programs. He is a former regional training manager from the financial and communications industries. His MBA with international emphasis directed him toward the cultural and human resources aspects of international finance.
On the outdoor side, Tim is a Deer Valley Resort ski instructor, former children's ski school supervisor, and former director of the Salt Lake City/County Recreational Junior Tennis programs. Tim is a hunter, fisherman, and competitive shooter.
Alyssa von Puttkammer (CGL Fellow) - Based in Boston, MA, Alyssa is pre-med student at Tufts University. As a CGL Fellow, she works full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. This summer, Alyssa founded the first female soccer league in the Kilimanjaro region's rural schools, teaching young Tanzanian girls about the importance of teamwork, effective communication, persistence, goal setting, inclusiveness, leadership, confidence, and pushing boundaries.
A two sport all-state athlete, Alyssa is a member of the Tufts University soccer team and a gifted artist. Alyssa also likes learning languages (English, Arabic, Italian, and Spanish so far, with Swahili underway.)
