Safety
Safety, Fun, and Learning... First we concentrate on safety. Once things are safe, we can have fun. When we are safe and having fun, we can move into the learning zone. In short, we go nowhere until we have safety protocols in place.
Safety is our #1 priority... We go to great extremes to mitigate controllable risks. That stated, there are inherent risks in outdoor programs. While we do everthing in our power to mitigate risks, we need you to exercise a high degree of responsibility and accountability as well.
Highly experienced guides... Our guides are some of the best in the world. Your Swiss guide just might be the person who certifies guides in the Alps. Your New Zealand guide just might be the person who used to train Outward Bound guides. Your skiing guide just might be a former Olympian.
Medical Training... Each of our guides are trained in wilderness medicine. Many of our guides are also Wilderness First Responders, EMT's, and even a few MD's as well.
Safety in Developing Countries... We only run programs in countries deemed safe by the US State Department. As an additional backup, we contract with an organization for each of our International trips in case events changs on the ground. The organization provides rapid evacuation for individuals and/or the entire group, if required.
