Story Behind Our Center

Do you want to make a lasting difference during your time on our planet? I sure do. That's what I left the Fortune 500 after my daughter was born and started CGL. Our Center's mission is to build a global network of passionate and highly-skilled young entrepreneurs to change the way our world works.

The genesis of our Center... I had just graduated from a high-potential leadership development program and was selected to run 2-year long executive development programs for a company doing business in over 100 countries. Our privileged and elite team of 56 young guns had access to the CEO, Presidents, and Executive VP's. We benefited from state-of-the-art leadership, management, and business training programs. Our mentors were global experts in their fields. Not surprisingly, each of us rocketed upwards in our careers.

Knowing the advantage provided by this kind of access, training, and mentoring, I asked myself two critical questions that changed everything... What if we could offer a program like this to tens of thousands of young change agents around the world? How much better off would our world be? And with those two questions, the Center for Global Leadership was born.

Our role... We will teach you state-of-the-art skills and then help you master those skills and abilities. We will take you to very cool places around the globe where you can put your training into action, working to eradicate poverty and helping to build a sustainable planet.

The quick 411 bio data... A Cornell grad, at age 25 I was running global leadership development for a Fortune 500 company doing business in over 100 countries. Following that, I ran industry-leading global businesses with thousands of employees around the world. I am a member of the Ashoka Changemaker Network, the Clinton Global Initiative's Millennium Network, and Net Impact (changing the world through business.)

Working with young adults... Throughout a great career, my favorite thing has always been working with young people - people with vision, hope, passion, and intellect. People who are changing the way our world works.

So join us on our journey... It will change your life - you'll have a lot of fun and make lifelong friendships in the process.

Peace - Martin
